Callum and the founding of CJS Construction Ltd.
With 15 years’ experience in both New Zealand and the UK, completing his carpentry apprenticeship with an Auckland based company covering a wide range of residential and light commercial construction, Callum continued work in Auckland as a qualified carpenter for a further two years, before leaving for the UK.
With time spent in Edinburgh working on historically listed buildings, loft, and cellar conversions as well as refurbishment/replacement, Callum gained important overseas experience and knowledge to add to his skillset.
Not long after returning to NZ and gaining employment with an Auckland based residential construction company, Callum had a good grasp on the current building and construction scene in Auckland and soon was in the process of setting up CJS Construction.
CJS started as a one-man band with an apprentice, completing small renovations and extensions. The need for more labour was evident, an apprentice and qualified carpenter were then taken on, CJS has completed numerous mid to high-end renovations, extensions and new builds. This has created an excellent portfolio and most importantly happy clients who have referred CJS to friends and family time and time again. Not to mention, a company to be proud of.
Outside of work Callum enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, as well as an interest in fishing, hunting and the outdoors.
